Historical Sources- Borscht, Bolsheviks and Blood!
Our Level 2 History class at Tangaroa College is currently studying the history of the Russian Revolution. We are in the middle of their first big credit frenzy of the year with the 2.1 and 2.1 research assessments. Students have a choice of researching one of the major figures in the Russian Revolution like Nicholas II, or Lenin and producing a short biographical pamphlet that relates them to the main historical themes of the topic. One of the requirements for the project is for students to find at least three primary sources they can use for their research. A primary source is not a teacher, or historian writing about something that happened in the past. Think of a primary source as evidence collected from people directly involved in the events.
